Hurricane Ike Passed Through Town

On Sunday afternoon, Hurricane Ike came roaring through the Midwest, bringing winds gusts up to 78mph with it. While Central Ohio did not get the rains that Indiana and Illinois did, the wind was still enough to take down trees and power lines. Over 50% of Central Ohio was without power by Sunday night, and there are areas still without power four days later. Some may not see power again until this weekend, or after.

A thank you is in order for the wonderful men and women from around the state, and other states that sent crews to help with the cleanup and restoration of power. Many complain that the power is not being restored quickly enough. Considering the number of areas with downed lines, blown transformers, and other issues, I am impressed that so much of the area has been restored already. Keep up the good work, guys!
